Meticulously handcrafted by Mr. Hasehira in the serene village of Miyama, Kyoto, the Miyama Bento Box 393 | Tamo showcases the rare elegance of Tamo wood, known as Japanese ash. Revered for its striking, wavy grain pattern (often called “watered silk”), Tamo is a prized material traditionally used for high-end furniture, luxury veneers, and even fine musical instruments like guitars.

This unique wood is celebrated not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its durability and rich texture. Rarely used in bento boxes, Tamo elevates this piece to a level of sophistication rarely found in everyday items. Its natural patterns make each box one of a kind, exuding a quiet luxury that reflects the harmony of nature and craftsmanship.

Designed for those who value artistry in the everyday, this bento box combines practicality with a touch of indulgence, making every meal a refined experience.

The Story

One day, a Miyama woodworker named Mr. Hasehira saw Bento&co featured on national TV, and was inspired to make bento boxes of his own! When we saw his results, we were thrilled. Mr. Hasehira continues to hand make these limited edition bento boxes, and we are honored to be able to sell them on our shop exclusively.
