Will I pay fees upon arrival?
The import of a product from Japan may be subject to taxes and custom fees in the country of delivery, and these supplementary costs are the customer's responsibility.
- For US Customers: All packages are subject to import duties (=tariffs). These fees are billed by the carrier before delivery.
- For EU Customers: VAT is automatically calculated and added at checkout for orders under €150 (after discount / before shipping).
Please always refer to your national customs official website for specific import duty thresholds.
How much time does it take to be delivered?
Delivery times start after your order leaves our warehouse:
- Registered Airmail: Estimated delivery within 9 to 30 business days. (not guaranteed)
- Express Shipping: Estimated delivery within 2 to 5 business days.
Note: 'Business days' do not include weekends or holidays.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping costs vary depending on your location, the weight of your package, and the shipping method you choose. Exact shipping rates will be displayed during the checkout process once you provide your shipping address.
Shipping does not include import duties/taxes.
Is everything made in Japan?
Most of our products are made in Japan. Everything we sell is shipped directly from our shop in Kyoto. Over the years, we have built strong relationships with Japanese manufacturers, ensuring high-quality, authentic products.
What is the return policy?
- If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you have seven days after receiving your order to return the item(s) for an exchange, refund, or store credit. You must email us at contact@bentoandco.com to begin the return process. The customer is responsible for the shipping charges associated with sending the unwanted item(s) back to us.
- Damaged Items: If a product is damaged during transport, please contact customer service at contact@bentoandco.com and send a detailed photo of the damage along with your order number.
- Returns are not available for orders charged with customs duties or import taxes, as these fees are explained before checkout and are the customer’s responsibility.
