I haven't actually used these donburri cups yet which is why I haven't given them a perfect score, but they will definitely make the perfect whimsical addition to a neko bento, I am absolutely sure.
The chick one feels like it's a little loose which I am concerned about, the others slot together well.
I’m really pleased with my order. It brightens my day to put together my lunches now and it’s fun to use the accessories like the food picks and sauce pots as well.
These pots are definitely for thicker sauces, think vegan kewpie style mayo and ketchups. The lids don’t twist on they’re more of a push on, I’m not sure they’d stay on if upended for a long time, so pack them in tightly with your food.
They're cute, but they open REALLY easily. So you have to be very careful. Also, they are quite tall so they don't fit in a lot of my boxes, unfortunately.
Theyre super cute but I must admit I've yet to use them as only the chick will fit in mine or my bfs 1000ml double layer bentos. Still cute though and I plan to try repurposing the lids as little circle cutters for bread or cheese :3
These are adorable but I still haven’t figured out how to use them. They’re too small for fruit like grapes or cut pineapple but they’re also not completely sealable for liquid storage.
Store owner replied:
Hi Katherine, thanks so much for providing feedback! These cups are best for thick sauces (ketchup, mayo etc). And yes, they are quite small so would not work with larger cuts of fruit. We will work on updating the description so it's more clear!
Adorable and useful!
I use these to store furikake, seasonings, and thick sauces (like mayo) for my bentos. It works great and they look so cute!
Super Cute!
These animal cups are adorable! They're somewhat pretty small, but they do fit in my bento box and can contain a decent amount of thick sauces and spices (My favorite has got to be the panda). I wouldn't recommend putting in runny light liquids though since the tops are really easy to remove and if you're carrying them in your bag as you move (like run or something cause your late) they might spill over. Also on the image of the packaging, it shows the panda containing fruit slices. Unless your making really tiny barely their fruit cubes then it's not going to fit much. size reference = can probably fit the diameter of a golf ball in the panda with no problem.
So cute, durable, and compact! Endless possibilities to use them.
These are adorable! They are durable and do not open especially if you put dips in them for your food. Nice and compact; fits nicely in your bento, reduces the clutter, and little plastic bowls to throw away, including their wrappers. All three create a cute flair to your entire bento. The panda is my favorite. If you do not intend to use them for dips; try using them to store extra seasonings, herbs, or even medication if you need to take them when you eat. Actually, the possibilities are endless to use these adorable, little cups. 5/5 stars and I did not mind the wait, I was ecstatic to receive it!! Highly worth it and everything was packaged well. So if you ever get a coupon code for Bento & co, use it! Do not let it expire.
Three cuties
I use the largest one for tonkotsu sauce (can't have enough of that stuff, it's yummy!), the middle one for ketchup or mayo (don't need too much of that), and the smallest for furikake or sesame seeds. Doesn't bother me that they don't seal; they're fitting so perfectly into most of my bento boxes that they're held together by the surrounding food and the lids :)
