A masterpiece of one of our favorite Japanese craftsmen Mr. Hasehira, the Miyama Octagonal Bento 362 | Sugi is a large octagonal bento showcasing the natural beauty of Sugi (Japanese Cedar).

This Sugi, naturally dried over 5 years, is fragrant, water and insect resistant. Its warm, soft tones and aromatic properties make it ideal for crafting elegant yet durable items, from furniture to bento boxes. This piece is made from wood cut in a style known as Itame, giving the wood beautiful curves and waves in the grain.

Preserved in a rustic condition to showcase the wood's unique personality.

The Story

One day, a Miyama woodworker named Mr. Hasehira saw Bento&co featured on national TV, and was inspired to make bento boxes of his own! When we saw his results, we were thrilled. Mr. Hasehira continues to hand make these limited edition bento boxes, and we are honored to be able to sell them on our shop exclusively.
