Enjoy the beauty of a handcrafted wooden product, a unique, historic and rare Japanese creation. This Bento Box is a investment for the future - let this beauty age with you.
Urushi Shikaku is a bento box made of wood, crafted and decorated in line with the urushi (漆 Japanese for 'lacquer') traditions from Yamanaka in Kaga. Also known as Yamanakanuri, these wood decoration skills produce outstanding results, created with sincerity and very original in their design. There is a reason why they were the first Japanese craftsmen to be considered part of the country National heritage!
This large and two-tiered square ("Shikaku" in Japanese) lunchbox has incredible aesthetics - with its shining and lacquered brown natural wood and simple yet classy design. One thing that struck us the first time we put our hand on it: it is just unbelievably soft! This is, without a doubt, the result of long and patient work from skilled Japanese craftsmen.
Chic lunchbox or elegant storage box; there are many ways to make good use of it!
