Hojicha is a roasted green tea with rich, nutty, smoky, and earthy flavors. Enjoy this delicious JAS certified 100% organic Hojicha from Uji, the famous tea region in Kyoto. 

What we love about it:

  • Delicious roasted flavor, perfect for cleaning the palate after a heavy meal. 
  • Contains generous 150 grams, enough for 30 servings of tea! 
  • Full of minerals and vitamins, including vitamin C. 
  • Made with the traditional kettle roasting method, resulting in reduced astringency and bitterness.
  • JAS certified 100% organic tea leaves.
  • Significantly less caffeine than typical green tea, perfect to wind down with.
  • Great served hot in a teapot, or cold brewed for a refreshing summer drink.

How to Enjoy: 

1. Add 2 teaspoons (5g) per person to tea pot
2. Pour boiling water into tea pot (recommended temperature 95° celsius)
3. Steep for 30-40 seconds. 
4. When pouring for several people, pour a small amount of tea into each teacup several times. This way, the taste and quantity of tea in all the teacups will be uniform.

Cold brew:
1. Add 3g (1 heaping teaspoon) of tea leaves per 100mL water. (If adding ice later, double the amount of tea leaves) 
2. Refrigerate for 3-6 hours.
