Miyama Octagonal Bento 181 | Tamo

A masterpiece of one of our favorite Japanese craftsmen Mr. Asehira, the Miyama Octagonal Bento 181 | Tamo is a large octagonal bento showcasing the natural beauty of Tamo (Japanese Ash).

Handcrafted in Miyama (美山 'beautiful mountain'), a center of traditional crafts.

The Story
One day, a Miyama woodworker named Mr. Asehira saw Bento&co featured on local TV, and was inspired to make bento boxes of his own! When we saw his results, we were thrilled. Mr. Asehira continues to hand make these limited edition bento boxes, and we are honored to be able to sell them on our shop exclusively.

Made from Tamo (Japanese Ash).
One of the world’s rarest hardwoods, found only in Japan and naturally dried over 5 years. Preserved in a rustic condition to showcase the wood's unique personality.

  • Bento box may have naturally occurring small indentations and marks (featured in the product photos) which are intentionally left to reflect the natural state of the wood.
