Take Maru, our new box made of bamboo.
A souvenir from Kyoto on Bento&co.
Take Maru is our new bamboo box. Bamboo is one of the most durable and beautiful material. People in Kyoto, and everywhere in Japan, have started using the bamboo for a very long time now. As well as being an abundant renewable material, bamboo is soft, strong and water-resistant.
Did you know that in 1879, Thomas Edison may have used a filament made out of carbonized bamboo when he first created the light bulb ? From grass to light...
It's an ideal material for quality bento boxes that are natural and environmentally friendly. Light wood-colored, it may darken a bit with time. Bamboo doesn't need to be lacquered to be water resistant
Two containers, one divider. A genuine and stylish bento box.
Take Maru are gorgeous boxes to carry your lunch. Bamboo boxes allow your food to breath, such as the warm onigiri you made in the morning. The food is then fresher. You won't put anything too liquid in it, but let's imagine. Some fresh vegetables for your starter and a piece of cake in the upper-tier. An onigiri, a piece of grilled salmon and two or three cherry tomatoes in the lower container. This simple but healthy lunch will look so appetizing is a box like this one. Simplicity, harmony and natural.
Take Maru can also be used to present or store cupcakes, cookies or little treasures.
An elastic band will close securely the two container and the lid. Choose the red or black one. Don't underestimate the effect of small details like the decorative piece of painted bamboo on it.
