Here is one of the best examples of traditional Japanese cookware: the YukiHira Nabe. Our Yukihira Pot is made in Japan and you can even use on induction hobs!
The YukiHira Nabe Pot is a lightweight hammered pot, made of stainless steel. With a thick natural wooden handle, it's really easy to maneuver. Yukihira Pots can be found in almost every kitchen in Japan.
The hammered stainless steel surface conducts heat quickly and efficiently, making it perfect for Japanese noodles or bouillon (dashi)! It will easily become one of your go-to kitchen tools.
- Before first use, fill the pot with water and add about 1/2 cup of vegetable peelings. Boil over high heat for about 15 minutes. This will prevent your pot from discoloring.
- If the pot does become discolored inside after several uses, don't worry, it's still fine and safe for you.
- If you want to bring it back to its original finish, fill the pot with water and 1/2 lemon thinly sliced. Boil over for about 15 minutes. Then clean with sponge.
