Chip n Dale Autumn Bento

I am so happy that I could pack my first bento in this beautifully designed Black + Blum Sandwich Box. I did bend the ‘rules’ a little, instead of sandwich, I packed a rice-based meal. It still fitted perfectly, so do not restrict the use of this functional bento box! In the mood of seaweed cutting over the weekend, I was able to do a little prep work in cutting the seaweed for my bento. This means that I greatly reduce the bento preparation time in the morning.

I made seaweed cut outs of Chip and Dale for this bento. Chip and Dale were one of my favorite Walt Disney cartoon characters when I was a kid!

For Bento&co bento weekend theme #fall bento, I immediately thought of Chip and Dale! Their love for the acorns and their colors just seem so...autumn. :P

The side dishes were garlic stir fry asparagus, minced meat patties with french beans, lettuce, cucumber, maple leaf mochi slices, and a cute maple leaf shaped wagashi.

One thing, I am totally won over by this new Black + Blum Sandwich Box. It has both a modernist take coupled with a traditional feel! Thanks to the combination of its aluminum box and the bamboo lid.

The bamboo lid also doubles up as a cutting board. The aluminum box has a rubber sealing around the sides to reduce spillage. It comes with a black band to keep it all together.

It is really beautiful and very functional too! I always love a touch of beautifully craved wood in lunchboxes!

Shirley - Bento specialist, Singapore

Hello :) I am Shirley, a bento artist/chef and blogger. I started making bento back in 2011 as getting lunch was very inconvenient at work, and in 2012 my blog, Little Miss Bento was born. Bento making is a passion that I am fond of, and excited about. My head is often bursting with ideas on what to make. Even when I visit the supermarkets, I often imagine what I can make out of an ingredient or food product. Character bentos are my forte, but I also enjoy making usual bento lunches, bread, sweets and other decorative food items. If you like kawaii and and fun creations, I am sure you will enjoy my blog postings. I will continue to do my best and thanks for staying with me.
