Take Bako Ajiro

8,000 JPY

Take Bako Ajiro is a slightly larger version of the Take Bako, with the addition of a beautiful woven bamboo pattern both on the lid and inside the box. As with its smaller cousin, it is made entirely of sustainable bamboo.

Size L.

Presentation

The Take Bako Ajiro is a beautiful traditional bento box, made of bamboo (take (pronounced ta-KEH) in Japanese) by a company of artisans who have been in business in Kyoto since 1898. The highest quality demanded by finicky Kyoto-ites is reflected in every detail of the box.

The Take Bako Ajiro features a beautiful decorative woven bamboo pattern (the weave is called ajiro in Japanese, hence the name of the box), both as an inset on the lid, and inside the box. Even with the woven bamboo this box is surprisingly practical and easy to take care of. Bamboo grown in the Kyoto area is such a fine, durable material that Thomas Edison found it was ideal to use as filaments in his first light bulbs!

The My Hashi Take set is the perfect chopstick set to go with your Take Bako Ajiro

Features

The Take Bako Ajiro is a two-tier stacking bento box with a lid, made entirely of bamboo. Note that there is no elastic band included. We recommend using a furoshiki for transporting the Take Bako Ajiro safely. It comes packaged in a beautiful presentation box.

Dimensions: 19 cm long x 12 cm wide x 12 cm high (7.5" x 4.7" x 4.7")

Each compartment has a capacity of 400ml, for a total of 800ml.

Please note that this box is not microwave safe. Keep away from open flames or heating elements. To clean this box, wipe clean with a  soft damp cloth, then dry off immediately. Leave to air-dry completely before storing. If the box shows any signs of mold, leave to dry out in the sun and then buff carefully with a soft cloth.

Since bamboo is a natural material, no two boxes are alike.

Made in Japan.

Please read through the Terms and Conditions of Sale and Shipping and Delivery pages prior to placing an order. The import of a product from Japan may be subject to taxes and to custom fees in the country of delivery.
