The Heart Sando is a brand new pocket sandwich maker from Bento&co, that creates 5 cute little sandwiches in one go! Great for bentos, for snacks, and for parties too.

A pocket sandwich is two pieces of sandwich bread that are cut and sealed on the edges, with filling inside. Pocket sandwiches are cute and easy to eat, especially for small children. They are very popular in Japan, and are sold at supermarkets and convenience stores (konbini).

The Heart Sando ("sando" is Japanese for sandwich) is a two-part sandwich maker/cutter. To use, make a sandwich with two pieces of soft bread, with small spoonfuls of filling placed where the sandwich cutouts will be. Try peanut butter and jelly or jam, Nutella, tuna salad, or whatever you or your kids like.

Take care not to overfill or the edges may not seal. Put the sandwich in between the two parts, and press hard. You'll get tiny heart shaped sandwiches plus a puffy square one in one go!

There are clear illustrative step-by-step photos on the package. There are even some recipes ideas for the leftover bread parts.

Tip: To help the bread edges seal, put the sandwich bread in a plastic bag and microwave on high for a few seconds, to make it slightly moist.
