Furoshiki Matsu is a gorgeous 50 cm (19.7") square wrapping cloth, for wrapping around your bento box. When unwrapped it doubles as a small tablecloth.  The size is great for any of our bento boxes, and is especially recommended for use with our genuine wood bento boxes. The ground color is a sophisticated purple, the official color of the city of Kyoto, and it's printed overall with a stylized matsu or pine motif in yellow and white, that is traditional yet quite modern and contemporary looking. 

Furoshiki are traditional Japanese wrapping cloths (Wikipedia). They used to be used for everything - as an impromptu bag, for wrapping things for storage, as a reusable gift wrapping. Furoshiki have been making a comeback in Japan in recent years, as a beautiful, reusable and eco-friendly way of wrapping things up!
