Emaki Bento
2,200 JPY
The Emaki Bento series of bento boxes feature 3 superbly executed, traditional Japanese designs. If you love classical Japanese design, Emaki Bento is for you. The Emaki Bento series will be introduced to the Hakoya product line in 2011, but we have them in stock now, ready to ship!
Size M - a great size for adults with small to average appetites.
Presentation
The Emaki Bento series of boxes are embossed on the lid with 3 magnificent classic Japanese motifs, taken from well known emaki or picture scrolls. Choose from:
- AkaFuji, the red Mount Fuji, taken from one of the renowned 36 Views of Japanese Mountains series of woodcuts by the world famous artist Hokusai
- Shishi, a deep red box with two mythological lions or "shishi"
- Fujin Raijin, a black box with depictions of the mythical Wind God (Fujin) and the Thunder God (Raijin)
New to the Emaki Bento box series are the flexible inner lids that are made of silicone rather than the usual polyethelene. This means that you can put these boxes in the microwave with the inner lids on. The silicone lids also seal very securely, making the boxes virtually leakproof (though we don't recommend carrying the boxes upside down!).
Features
The Emaki Bento box is a rectangular 2-compartment stacking box. Each compartment has its own flexible inner lid. The upper compartment has a capacity of 210 ml, and the lower compartment holds 300 ml, for a total capacity of 510ml.
Dimensions: 188 x 75 x 70 mm (7.4" x 3" x 2.8").
Weight: 380g.
The box is sold with a black elastic bento band to hold it securely closed.
Care and composition
The box body and outer lid are made of PET-PBT. The inner lids are made of silicone. The box is microwave and dishwasher safe, with the outer lid removed. Gentle handwashing is recommended for the outer lid, to keep the decoration pristine. Do not microwave for longer than 2 minutes at 700w. These boxes are not meant for cooking food, just for heating up!
Made in Japan, in Ishikawa by Hakoya.
