The Yamato bento boxes reproduce the look and feel of traditional Japanese wood lacquerware in remarkable detail, in practical and affordable plastic. Available in two styles: Maru, an oval box, and Shikaku, which is rectangular with rounded corners. Please choose your favorite from the pulldown menu when ordering.

Product Description

The Yamato is a microwave-safe, two-compartment bento box. The upper compartment has a flexible, leak-resistant lid.

The interior of the Yamato box is a sleek black, and the exterior has a woodgrain effect that simulates the look of Japanese cedar. This is an elegant, restrained box that is suitable for men or women.

A black elastic bento band to hold everything together is included.

Dimensions of the Shikaku box: 10 cm (3.9") wide x 16 cm (6.3") long x 8.8 cm (3.46") high.

The elastic bento band is 24 cm (9.45") long.

Composition and Care

The outer lid and compartments are made of PET-ABS, and the flexible inner lid is made of EVA (safe temperature range: -20°C to 140°C (-4°F to 284°F) for both).

This box is microwave and dishwasher-safe, with the inner flexible lid removed (which can get warped). We recommend using the box just for reheating food for a couple of minutes, not for microwave cooking!
